The initiative was taken by BJP MP Tarun Vijay who said that he will launch a rally from Kanyakumari on June 18 after which the statue will leave for Haridwar.

The statue was sculpted by a fifth generation sculptor at Namakkal, L M P Kumaresan, who said that his team of seven

members worked round the clock and completed it in 20 days.

The statue was moved to Chennai from Namakkal on Tuesday and will proceed on its onward journey to Haridwar where it will be erected on June 26 on the banks of river Ganga.
