Student dies after falling from 3rd floor of NM college

A 16-year-old college student died after allegedly falling from the third floor of his college building in JVPD yesterday afternoon.

The deceased, identified as Prasad Bagadia, sustained critical injuries as a result of the fall and later died on the operating table at Nanavati Hospital. College authorities informed his parents and the police have registered an accidental death case and are currently investigating the matter.

Bagadia, a resident of Lokhandwala, Andheri (W) was a Std XII student of NM College. According to Juhu police, Bagadia and his friends were on the third floor of the college building in the afternoon during college hours. Sometime later, students heard his friends screaming that he had fallen, and alerted the staff. The college authority immediately called the police and rushed Bagadia to the operating theatre at Nanavati Hospital, where he died due to multiple fractures. Police have sent his body Cooper Hospital for post mortem.


Senior police inspector Arun Bhagat of Juhu police station said, “It seems that the youth was sitting on the gallery wall with his friends and might have slipped. However, we will investigate all possible angles of the incident. We have called his friends and classmates on Wednesday for their statements to know the exact sequence of events and the cause of death.”u00a0
