There is no terror threat to the upcoming Commonwealth Games and the Hockey World Cup, Delhi Police Commissioner YS Dadwal has assured the Delhiites.

The two mega sporting events are scheduled to be held in October and this month respectively.
The World Cup hockey will be held at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium near India Gate from February 28 to March 12 in which 12 teams including hockey majors India, Pakistan, Germany, Australia and the Netherlands.
While 71 countries will participate in the Commonwealth Games to be held in various stadia in the city. The renewed security concerns over the sporting events came following a speech by Hafiz Abdur Rahman Makki, leader of terror outfit amalgam Jamaat-ul-Dawah, in which he named Pune, Delhi and Kanpur as "fair targets" of jehadis. Among them, Pune has already witnessed a bomb blast.
Assurances notwithstanding, the global security agencies are showing a keen interest in the Commonwealth Games to get a foothold in the Indian security market.

A number of firms from US, UK, Israel are wooing the security forces with a range of products like surveillance systems, intelligence software, locking systems and bullet proof jackets.
Unofficial estimates put the worth of Indian security market at about $600 million.
