The rupee today depreciated by 4 paise to 46.69 a dollar in the opening trade on demand for the US currency, which rose against other Asian currencies.

The rupee today depreciated by 4 paise to 46.69 a dollar in the opening trade on demand for the US currency, which rose against other Asian currencies.


Dealers said demand for the US currency from importers and fears of capital outflows by foreign funds weighed on the Indian rupee.


The dollar strengthened against other Asian currencies which also impacted rupee sentiments. The rupee had ended 22 paise higher at 46.65/66 against the dollar in previous trading.
