Riding high on light and sight

Sundeep 'Sunny' Gajjar travels across the globe on motorbikes, and clicks away the most striking places and faces he comes across. Now, his album is all set to trance-port you, too

A popular name in the field of biking, Sundeep 'Sunny' Gajjar says photography is the main reason for the many trips he takes. Created from the biker-lensman's five road trips around the world, 'Journeys in Light: Through a Motorcyclist's Lens' is an exhibition that's sure to have you riding high. Here's why.

Perfect landing

Sunnyu00a0 has been on expeditions since the last three years. "I have an intense passion for biking, which got me associated with xBhp.com, a motorcycling community, and Thephotographer.in, a budding photographers' group. So, my toil involves travelling around countries and showcasing them using photographs and blogs. I think of it as one of the best things that could happen to me," he smiles.

Pubs to people

From the star cluster of pubs and people to a plentitude of naturescapes and architecture, he has roofed all in Australia, New Zealand, Ireland and obviously, India. The collection cocoons micro-themes from his travels around different countries. "From a 170-year-old house hidden away in West Bengal to the beaches of Australia and New Zealand, the photos will take you through an exciting roller-coaster of visual stimuli and urge the viewer, himself, to travel. Each photo has a story before and after it," reveals the professional graphic designer.u00a0

"My experience with Ireland was very challenging, as it was mostly raining and dark. But I think such situations make us a better photographer," he stresses.

Shoot it all

His photography involves an eclectic mix of adventure, travel, visual arts and the element of uncertainty of discovering new vistas while being on road astride some of the most powerful two-wheelers in the world. Fresh, exciting and aesthetically appealing, the works are an improbable mix these days. "Even without a professional training in photography, I was able to come out with some alluring pictures. We get good digital cameras these days, and all that matters is the way we focus our mind. I compose them in a different way," signs off the 28-year-old Delhiite.
