Instead of garlanding the statue of the Father of the Nation on his 66th death anniversary yesterday, over 50 activists of the Nashik AAP unit cleaned the bus stand premises with the brooms.
AAP's district coordinator Jitendra Bhave, however, said the activists could not sweep the bus stand's canteen premises clean as hoteliers have dumped a huge pile of garbage there and a machine is required to lift it.
The party has also decided to collect scrap paper and magazines from people and then sell it to generate funds, he said.
