Railways arrest man who pooped inside ladies compartment

The Railway Protection Force’s month-long hunt for the person who would take a dump on the seats in women’s compartments came to an unpleasant end yesterday.

The police said the accused, Govind Bhavsar, is mentally disturbed and has stomach problems. He used to reside in Mumbra but his elder brother threw him out of their house. RPF officials said they formed a team led by senior divisional commissioner Alok Bohra, after receiving 28 complaints about excreta lying on train seats.

Inspector Subhash Thakur said, “We boarded the last local to Karjat around 1.26 am from Thane and saw a person get into the ladies’ compartment at Mumbra. He did not get off even when asked to.”

At the next station, when the cops boarded the coach he was in, they found him taking a careless crap on the seats. “When we approached him, he started flinging his shit at us but we somehow managed to catch him,” the official said. “The next morning, the train was delayed because it had to be cleaned up. Karjat station had received several complaints from passengers.”

He used to do it for kicks as he is deranged, cops said.

A railway court has sent Bhavsar to police custody for 25 days, and slapped a fine of Rs 4,725 on him, police said.u00a0
