GoAir’s CEO, Giorgio De Roni, said on Wednesday that the airline’s occupancy on the Pune-Bengaluru route, which connects the two IT hubs of the country, has been close to 80% in the last six months, prompting them to double the frequency.
Addressing the media, Roni said, “We have witnessed tremendous growth in the number of passengers from Pune, therefore it was essential to add one flight to an existing destination and connect a new destination. GoAir now operates to seven different destinations from Pune.”
“In order to enhance our service, we started taking feedback from on-board passengers from November last year. Every month, we receive feedback from nearly 7,000 passengers. One of their main concerns is regarding the food on board, therefore we are planning to redesign the food-on-board system and provide better service to our customers.”
The airline has also decided to reduce the hand baggage limit from 10 kg to 7 kg from this month, so that it can cut down on fuel costs and offer discounts to passengers.
“Our objective is to reduce the fuel cost, which will help us save a significant amount of money. Once we are able to achieve the target, we can offer tickets on discounted rates to the fliers,” said Roni.
