CELEBRATION TIME: The state recorded its highest-ever pass percentage in the HSC results this year
While the past few years have seen plenty of students asking for photocopies of their answer sheets so that the can apply for revaluation, only 17 students asked for them on the result day this year.
Even till last evening, only 150 students had applied for photocopies to the Pune divisional board. Last year, the number was 4,148.
“Compared to last year, the number of students asking for photocopies is minimal this year. Students still have a week to apply, but the trend indicates that students have faith in the board’s evaluation system,” said Pushpalata Pawar, secretary, Pune divisional board.
The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) had started issuing photocopies of answer sheets on demand under the Right To Information (RTI) Act from 2012. The option of seeking revaluation was introduced in 2013.
Past experience
After the HSC results last year, hundreds of students and parents had gathered at the board office.
They had expressed suspicion over the low marks and questioned the MSBSHSE’s assessment procedure. As many as 4,148 students had demanded photocopies of one or more answer sheets.
While only 226 had applied for revaluation on the basis of the photocopies, the marks had changed in 130 — or more than 50% — cases.
