The much-talked about Squad had failed earlier, but a reality check done by MiD DAY shows that things have improved

Bangaloreans will have another reason to smile this rainy season. The reason?u00a0 The Prahari Squad, a 24x7 hotline for registering civic complaints, which was set up in 2005, is back with a new and improved attitude.

Last night, MiD Day went to see if that was true indeed. The result? We got a positive response from 5, out of the 8 zones we visited.

Common complaints attended to by the squad range from garbage collection, to tree felling, and other emergencies.

MiD DAY reality team first went to to South Zone at 1.40 am, where the security was present and had all the necessary equipment needed in a crisis.

u00a0The team proceeded to Rajarajeshwari Nagar zone at 2.30 am. When they heard the sound of our car, they looked alert, and asked us what needed to be done. "We are ready 24 hours," was the response.

The team was disappointed with the Bommanahalli zone because they didn't bother picking up the phone. We moved on to Dasarahalli zone at 3.30 am. The staff was responsive, and answered all our questions.

We had a positive reaction from the East and West zones as well. So, Bangeloreans have some hope after all!
