Police suspect old rivalry behind realtor murder
The Parappana Agrahara police suspect old rivalry led to the brutal murder of Lohit Gowda, a 27-year-old realtor. Lohit Gowda alias Renuka was hacked to death near Parappana Agrahara Prison in broad day light yesterday when was heading to meet meet Seena and two others, accused in a triple murder case, in Nelamangala.
Gowda with his two friends Muniraja and Sachidanandamurthy left his house in Nagarabhavi in a car. They later stopped at a hotel to pack lunch for Seena and other two before reaching the prison. When he parked the vehicle and started walking towards the prison along with his friends, five persons swooped on to the spot in a multi-utility vehicle and hit on Gowda's head. Gowda died on the spot while the other two were left unharmed. The assailants did not harm Muniraja and Sachidanandamurthy, according to the police.
The duo later filed a complaint with the police and provided vital clues about the assailants. Based on the information the police have picked up a few men and are questioning them in this connection.

Two killed in accidents
A 35-year-old motorcyclist, identified as Puttaraju, an employee with a private firm, was mowed down by a lorry on Mysore Road. The Byatarayanapura police have arrested the driver and seized the lorry.
In another incident, 21-year-old Ashraf was killed on the spot, when a moped in which he was riding was hit by a mini cab.The Airport police have taken up the case and are investigating.
