Love makes people do strange things. More so if your girlfriend is the kind who likes material gifts to be pampered. The cops on Tuesday arrested a peon who works in Saket court for allegedly posing as a magistrate and demanding money from a Station House Official (SHO). The accused has been identified as Vishal Vohra.

According to the police, Vohra was into an extra-marital affair and was unable to fulfil the demands of his girlfriend due to low income. Therefore he planned to dupe people by impersonating as a magistrate. Vohra called Sarojini Nagar SHO Gagan Bhaskar and told him to pay Rs 15,000 to his nephew.

On call
"Vohra made several calls to Bhaskar introducing himself as a magistrate and asked him to help out his nephew who 'lost' Rs 15,000 during a shopping trip in the market. He said that he was out of town and promised the SHO that he would return the money to the Naib Court the next day," said DCP South, Chhaya Sharma.
Afterwards, Bhaskar got another call and the caller introduced himself as Vohra's nephew Deepak Aggarwal and asked for the money.

The SHO got suspicious after he received a lot of calls from Deepak. He then got hold of the magistrate's
official number and contacted him to verify facts and found that the caller was a cheat. "Bhaskar then called Deepak to the police booth to give him money. As soon as he arrived there he was arrested. It was later found out that Vohra was posing as Deepak. He was calling the SHO from two different SIM cards. He has been arrested and an FIR has been registered," said Sharma.
