Back in August, when we hopped on to a bicycle for Odati's famous heritage cycle tours across south Mumbai, it was a discovery of the city's many hidden gems and tons of fascinating trivia about places that we may have missed a million times before.

Did you know, for example, that the CST Railway Station was modelled on the lines of London's St Pancras Railway Station? Or that Wayside Inn once stood where today's Silk Route is located, and that this was where Dr Ambedkar is said to have written the first words of the Indian Constitution, on a tissue paper?

This Saturday, you get to recreate the same mood as Odati Adventures, in collaboration with Bombay HUB, have organised a tour around the Fort area. The route crisscrosses small lanes, localities, quaint Irani joints and buildings whispering stories from the past. Before the honking cars take over these massive roads, you can hop on to your saddle and rediscover Maximum City. Why do we insist? This tour costs Rs 500 lesser than their other bicylcle trails!

"What better way to tap into a groove, than to think of a sound and then allow it to come directly out of your body?" ask Alan deSouza and Neil Valles in their About Us section on their Facebook page. The duo makes up Boxy Turvy, a Bandra-based beatboxing group that churns out music by arranging mouth shapes, patting their cheeks and imitating musical instruments, all with the use of only their mouth. As you down a drink and revel in the start-of-weekend cheer at Gadda da Vida, the band will make 'inhuman' sounds to keep you grooving all night long.

At the 24FPS Awards by the Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematics (MAAC), snippets from short animation films by animation students from across the country as well as from countries including China, USA, France and Germany will be screened. You can also catch a glimpse at the best animation and VFX works coming out of Hollywood, Bollywood, gaming and ad films. The icing on the cake? A dance performance by TV actor Prachi Shah, a performance by Prince Group from India's Got Talent fame and another by comedian Kapil Sharma.

If the intrinsic association between words and culture always fascinated you, or if you are obsessed with all things French, we suggest you make a trip to the Alliance Fran aise (AF) this evening. The Caravane des Dix Mots (the caravan of ten words), a Lyon-based project on the sharing of the French language and the promotion of the diversity of expressions, urged the AF centres around the world to create a movie on the Francophone culture, through 10 French words that revolved around the theme of movement. Kadalika, a documentary that emerged out of India, was one of the ten films selected by the committee and was screened in several countries. Watch thisu00a0u00a0 13-minute movie (with English sub-titles) to gain an insight into what ten words could mean to different people.
