Clothes maketh the man or man maketh the clothes? Well, people have been looking for an answer to this question from time immemorial.

And for the 'posh' 'Mocambo' restaurant in Kolkata's Park Street area the answer to the question is 'clothes are more important than the man'.

Now, Park Street is a famous thoroughfare in Kolkata with several fine dining restaurants doting the location with Mocambo being one of the oldest joints there.

According to one Dilashi Hemnani, who posted the entire incident on Facebook, she went to the 'Mocambo' restaurant for dinner with her driver on Friday. According to Hemnani, who is a marketing manager at Tata Motors, the incident took place on September 9 at around 8:40pm. According to the post, the driver, Manish Bhaiya, had missed his lunch that day and she decided to take him to dinner with her.

On reaching the location, she was first given a waiting period of 15 minutes for a table for two, but htat changed to 45 minutes and then was told that she wouldn't be allowed inside because of the person she had come with. Once she understood  that the wait for deliberate, she charged the management. She reported that the staff said, "Ma'am we can’t give you a table”, subtly pointing at the driver.

Her post — shared on September 10 — has gone viral and created a furore on social media platforms, with people slamming the restaurant. Hemnani's Facebook post has been shared over 14,677 times since. It was even being shared on WhatsApp.
