A staff reporter from MiD DAY filed a complaint against Sonu alias Wafi Khan, who was questioned by the Mumbai Crime Branch for his connections with deceased starlet Laila Khan.
The complaint was filed after Sonu abused and threatened the reporter, Shiva Devnath, with dire consequences, when he tried to establish contact him for his version of the matter.

Khan, the son of a builder and a resident of Lokhandwala in Andheri (West), was called from Dubai to be questioned.
The police officers came to know of Sonu when Parvez Tak — accused in the murder of Laila, her mother and siblings — mentioned him as having ties with Laila.
On Wednesday, the police had called him to Crime Branch headquarters to answer some questions, after which he was allowed to go home. MiD DAY had reported on the interrogation, on the basis of a statement from Crime Branch officers.
The reporter then obtained Sonu’s mobile number, and called him up seeking to ask him some questions and take his version of the questioning, a regular feature of reportage.
“When he was called, Sonu began abusing and threatening me. He said he was upset with the report that appeared in MiD DAY. He threatened to have me killed,” said Devnath. The reporter then explained to Sonu that he was just calling for his version. He later approached the Andheri police and filed a written complaint.
“We have taken the complaint and are investigating the case,” said Prakash Vhatkar, assistant commissioner of police, Andheri.
