Adinath Hagawane, Vijay's brother, said, "Vijay had left home at 8 am to answer nature's call. When he did not return, we started looking for him and found his slippers near a well belonging to our cousin. Vijay must have fallen into the well while trying to draw water from it."
The fire brigade found his body last night after a long search operation.
The Dehuroad police has filed a case of accidental death.
PI N N Gokane, who is investigating the case, said, "We are also looking at the possibility of it being a suicide, but it will be premature to jump to any conclusion."
The post-mortem was conducted at Yashwantrao Chavan Hospital in Pimpri and the viscera report has been saved for further investigation, he added.
