Shankar claimed that the company, which exports iron ore, earned a good profit for a few months. However the company suffered huge loss due to market crash.

The management shut down the office and sacked Shankar.u00a0 The company allegedly started harassing him to pay Rs 3.1 crore, which they claimed they had incurred as loss because of his alleged misappropriation.
Shankar further alleged in his complaint that Sanjay Khemkar, former police officer and legal adviser to the company started threatening him with 'dire consequences' if he did not pay the amount.

Shankar approached the police who refused to take up the complaint. He then approached the 8th Additional Chief Metropolitan magistrate, who directed the High Grounds police investigate the mater and submit the report.

Shankar refused to comment, stating that the matter is pending before the court. "We have filed a defamation case against the company. I am seeking a compensation, and I do not want to comment on it at this point," he said.

Khemkar said that the company had filed a cheating complaint against Shankar, with the Bangalore Crime Banch. "We filed the complaint five months ago, and I don't think there is any progress in the case."
Sanjay added that Shankar has amassed crores of rupees that belonged to the company, and had no records to prove his expenditure.u00a0

"He might have filed the complaint as a last resort to save his skin. The company has not issued any threats to him, but sought explanation for the expenditure," Khemkar said adding that Shankar has slapped a compensation notice on the company instead of an explanation.
