The Janta Express train carrying hundreds of passengers, who survived the deadly train accident in Madhya Pradesh, reached Mumbai's Kurla Terminus on August 6 after unusual long delays.

The train arrived at 10am and the passengers were visibly tired after traveling in a train for nearly 48 hours. Initially the train was scheduled to arrive at 6am but got delayed as it was intruding the operation of other scheduled trains and was halted on loop lines as it entered Mumbai.


"The people who belonged to the derailed coaches too had to be accommodated along with us," said one of the passengers who got down from S8 compartment.

Most passengers said that they heard a loud noise and then there was a complete blackout and the train was partially inside the over-flowing river that had crossed danger mark.

The coaches had huge scratches and dents due to the accident. The seats too were in bad shape.

The railway authorities at the station were prepared with several TCs and RPF staff present to monitor the situation.

The passengers were ferried out of the platform without much trouble.
