Flanked by former BJP district president Padam Singh Sharma, former legislator Pranat Pal Singh, she led a delegation of more than 12 farmers to the finance minister and presented six demands related to the recent onslaught of rains and hailstorm.
"She explained a common problem where the owner of the land is someone else, while farming is done by someone else in lieu of some produce or any other conditions. Present rules allow benefit to the owner while someone else suffers. She has demanded compensation for both," Pathak said.
Her other demands included writing-off Kisan Credit Card loan, abolition of interest on crop loan, compensation for every farmer who died recently owing to hailstorm directly or indirectly (death by shock), writing-off all arrears between April 1 2014 to 31st March 2015 and transparency in distribution of compensation, he said.
