mumbaivotes.com publishes performance reports of six Mumbai MPs, detailing queries they asked in Parliament, funds they spent etc

You can now judge the performance of your MPs by a report released by mumbaivotes.com, a website tracking the work of legislators. The report details how many questions the MP asked in Parliament, how many sessions they attended, and how much they spent from the MP Local Area Development Funds (MPLAD).

Sanjay Nirupam (Cong), MP from Mumbai North
>> Asked 331 questions, compared to a national average of 300 questions asked
>> Attended 16 sessions and proposed no bills
>> Spent Rs 11.55 crore (61 per cent) of the total Rs 19 crore available in the MPLAD fund

Gurudas Kamat (Cong), MP from Mumbai North West
>> Asked one question when average number of questions asked was 114
>> Average number of questions is less because Kamat was a minister and resigned in 2012 (ministers have to answer questions)
>> Attended 5 sessions and proposed no bills
>> Spent Rs 9.11 crore (48 per cent) of R19 crore available in the MPLAD funds

Priya Dutt (Cong), MP from Mumbai North Central
>> Asked 156 questions when national average number of questions asked by MPs was 300
>> Attended 16 sessions and proposed 3 bills (Destitute Children, Writers and Artists, Persons with Disabilities)
>> Dutt spent Rs 11.67 crore (61 per cent) of the R19 crore made available to her via the MPLAD funds

>> Asked 274 questions, when average number of questions was 200 (he was appointed as minister in 2011)
>> Attended seven sessions and proposed no bills
>> Spent Rs 13.31 crore (70 per cent) of the total Rs 19 crore available in the MPLAD funds

>> Gaikwad asked 992 questions, highest Mumbai MPs, compared to average of 300 questions
>> Attended 16 sessions, no bills proposed
>> Spent Rs 13.26 crore (70 per cent) of the total Rs 19 crore available in the MPLAD funds
