"The High Court ordered the Delhi police and the MCD to handover the ground floor of my property. On Friday evening I reached my property in Defence Colony area with a key maker and my two lawyers. But inspector Gupta, the officer present at the scene, threatened the key maker and he ran away.
Then the cops tried to stop me from entering the house. But I refused to budge and I finally entered my house through a broken window. I was just looking around when I suddenly saw the SHO of the area, who entered the house and started to pull me outside. I told them that I have the orders of the High Court but the cops kept pulling at me. Then I saw Sunil Gupta also standing with the cops," said Manjula.
Meanwhile, the victim's daughter Sonia (23), was capturing everything on camera but a cop stopped her. MiD DAY has the video clip in which the cops are forcibly evicting Manjula. She received some injuries in this scuffle.
"When the cops thrashed me I received a deep cut on my right leg and I started bleeding. Then the cops started abusing each other saying that they had created a mess. Then they took me to the hospital for a medical certificate. I am sure that they have not made the certificate properly.
I am the daughter of a retd. Genral of the Indian Army, Shivdev Verma, and I was a doctor with the army. The property was sealed after a conspiracy by Sunil Goyal when I was abroad in 1997 and then Gupta wrote his name in front of my house and he also placed a board putting the house up for sale, with his mobile number.
It's clear that Sunil has links with the cops and that's why they are favouring him. Sunil is a property dealer and a land grabber. Even the inspector, who was supposed to protect us after the court's order, was harassing us" Manjul added.
On the other side the police officers are denying the occurrence of any such incident. "No such incident took place, although we have received a written complaint from Manjula and we will inquire into this matter," said a police officer.
