MJ Rakesh shares his fun experience at the morning shows this week

It's intimate, it's elusive, it's mighty and it's dangerously addictive!

These are just some of the attributes of this invincible force called 'Radio'.

You might wonder why am I getting so serious and austere about thewhole thing when this medium is all about creating 'Fun'. But sometimes creating that fun could be a serious job too.

No! It's not that Prithvi and I find it difficult. We are saying all this, purely because:

No 1: It convinces Prithvi and me that we are employed and employed in a damn good job. (It's a sheer act of self-glorification that we resort to, at regular intervals.)

No 2: It shows how indomitably powerful we are in touching lives of people around us. (We realized this after what we did on our show in the last few days: Every morning between 7 and 11 on 94.3 RadioOne.)

In the last few days on the show, we touched those sides of the lives of listeners that really mattered to them.

(Stop getting ideas. We are talking about touching an emotion. Nothing else). These are things that each of us hates and yet cannot dodge. Prithvi and I felt so honest and earnest in doing what we did.

Trust me, it's a very rare emotion for thick skins like us, but we did feel it.

We spoke about how power cuts are written off in our destiny especially, if we decide to spend the rest of our lives in this IT city. And if we were to demand compensation from the government for it, what would it be?

Prithviu00a0 and I settled for one IPL ticket for every one-hour of power cut.

And as we sweated with Bengalooruu00a0 touching the highest temperature ever, we questioned if we could sweat anything else but sweat (salt water).
u00a0
As much as it is against the will of God and biologically challenges, we'd crave to sweat: 'Petrol'. Prithvi anyways contributes to that with the amount of crude oil that his baldpate sheds.

Prithvi and I got a very funny feeling when we came across this bizarre fact that: "India has more cell phones than toilets!" When we asked Bengalooru if they were happy or unhappy about it, someone announced: Today, a call is more important than a nature's call!

It couldn't have gone more delirious when we celebrated, probably the most dreaded day for many sane beings: The Matrimony Day!

The least we could do on this day of mass destruction was to let the affected people come on air andcry on our shoulders. Because the moment you say: "I do....! You are done!"

And as I get done, here's a snap shot of these little angels who dropped by our studio recently. Prithvi and I were opportunists enough to title it:"Hum Do, Humare Ek Dozen."

PS: Prithvi is only pretending to smile in the picture. Actually, he is petrified. He suffers from infant-o-phobia. Fear of kids.
