Kidnap plot foiled, seven held

The Soladevanahalli police have foiled a kidnap plot and arrested seven youngsters who were planning to kidnap a software engineer's minor son.

According to the police, the accused are Mallikajuna, 21, Satish, 25, Naresh, 19, Saravana, 19, Ravi, 19, Ramu, 19, and Pradeep, 18. They were arrested while waiting in a car in an abandoned ground in Chikka Banawara. The police have also seized a Maruthi Swift car and lethal weapons from them.

The accused were keeping a watch on the house of the software engineer to kidnap his minor son for a ransom of Rs one crore. The accused have been remanded to judicial custody.
