Money said to be motive behind murder

A 21-year-old college boy was murdered on Monday morning at Nanak Sar, Wazirabad. Kamlesh Singh Rawat, the victim, was a resident of Sonia Vihar. Some differences over a monetary issue is believed to be the reason behind the killing.

The incident took place at 6.45 in the morning when Kamlesh, a student of Khalsa College in Delhi University's North Campus had left home to attend his typing classes. The moment he reached the Nanak Sar bus stand, a white WagonR with dark window panes entered the road from the wrong side and stopped in front of him. Four to five boys were inside the car.

A witness identified some of the perpetrators as Umesh, Bacchan Naager and Praveen Naager. "Three of them got out of the car and threatened Kamlesh with a knife and carried him inside the car", he said.

"They started beating Kamlesh with a rod and then stabbed him with the knife. Then at around 7 am they threw him inside the Usmaanpur jungle", a police officer said.

Residents of Usmaanpur village called up the PCR. "We rushed the wounded Kamlesh to G.T.B Hospital, where doctors declared him dead," the officer said.

The family of the victim however said that the late action of the police in taking him to the hospital and the delay on the doctors' part claimed their boy's life. They also alleged that they had earlier lodged an FIR regarding calls of death threat that Kamlesh had received over the past few days. Some locals also protested against the police.

The cops said they will soon identify the murderers and sort out the case.
