Addressing the special session of the Jagran Forum, Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari said that solving the traffic problem in the national capital is the need of the hour.

On a query on Odd-Even formula of the Delhi government, he said some amendments have been suggested in the proposal to tackle traffic jams. He dicussed the bottleneck-areas of Delhi roads that needs to be treated urgently and assured to work on reducing traffic jams jointly.
On Monday night, Nitin Gadkari's car was stuck on the Gurgaon-Mahipalpur flyover, when he was on his way to airport. Later, he asked for a report to be made on the traffic jams in the national capital from the agency who works on it.
Speaking about the efforts made by the Central government for curbing road accidents and improving traffic management, he stated that during his tenure as a Road Minister, 55 flyovers have been constructed. He also said licensing policy will be changed to reduce accidental deaths and abolish the mechanism of number plates.
The discussion with Nitin Gadkari at the Jagran Forum ended on a note to make Delhi jam-free within two years.
