New Delhi: With Delhi heading for Assembly elections, BJP has decided to rope in city's barbers and small grocers for its poll campaign, saying that people in large numbers gather at their shops due to which party can be able to connect with more voters.

"These days, even the neighbours don't get to meet but people in the colonies often catch up with each other at barber shops or corner groceries. Barbers and grocers cells of the party can play important role by enrolling barbers and small grocers into it," said a senior BJP leader.

According to the party, it has asked its both its Barbers and Small Grocers Cells that they should enroll thousands of small grocers and barbers in the party in order to boost the membership drive.

Meanwhile, Delhi BJP in-charge Prabhat Jha today held a meeting with the heads of party's 51 cells and asked them to speed up their activities in view of the Assembly elections.

Directing the party's media and social media cells to work in coordination, Delhi BJP chief Satish Upadhyay said that both these cells have an important role during the elections but also have a role to present a clean image of the party among the people continuously.

Upadhyay has also asked the party's Traders Cell to give a clear message to the traders of the national capital that BJP will stress upon having a proper coordination between various departments and the traders organisations after coming to power.
