Srinagar: The Indian Army on Sunday intercepted a group of heavily-armed guerrillas in Kashmir's Kupwara district, triggering a fierce gun battle which is still raging on over the Line of Control (LoC).
"Army troops intercepted a group of heavily-armed militants on the LoC in Tangdhar sector of Kupwara district on Sunday morning," a senior police officer told IANS here.
"When challenged, the militants resorted to firing at the troops resulting in a fierce gun battle that is still going on."
