Walks out on husband, manages to elude police

A trivial family dispute allegedly drove a 27-year-old woman, Savita Arun Mane, to walk out on her husband, along with her two children and mother.

Even a month after her husband Arun Mane lodged a missing complaint, there is no trace of the four.

Mane, who works as a private security said he had ignored his wife's appeals to move to a new house.u00a0

However, Savita's father Shankar Salgar hinted at a friendship with another man.

A complaint had been registered at Chatushurgi police station a month ago.

Savita had been staying at her parents' house for some time. Finally, she had decided to go back to her husband's house in Mangalwar Peth for the sake of her children Omkar (7) and Abhay (10).

But she didn't go there. The police said Savita's mother Akka Salgar (45) had accompanied Savita to her husband's house.

"Akka told Savita's father that she would return after dropping her daughter and grandchildren at Mangalwar Peth," a policeman said.

Mane said that after her disappearance, his wife had called on June 18 from a public booth. "She disconnected the call when I asked where she was. I checked the school where my children were studying. But they have not been attending school. I traced the call to Kothrud and went there with their pictures but found nothing.
Police said investigations were still on.
