Group of family counsellors holds workshops for youth
Insight, a group of family counsellors, is organising workshops called Self Awareness in Relationships for young professionals of marriageable age in Pune to help them cope with relationship stress.
Ravibala Lele, a counselor with Insight explained, "Couples part ways when they are unable to cope with relationship issues. Self awareness workshops help participants to understand different personality types and become more accepting of them."
Dr Makrand Thombre, a homeopath, family counselor and astrologer, said, "The workshops are like a mind gym for participants.
It shows them how to manage their emotions, and accept their self with its strengths and weaknesses. The roots of manyu00a0 problems that lead to marital discord lie in a poor understanding of one's own personality."
Dr Afrin Khan, a participant at the workshop, said, "I have a habit of brooding over trivial things. Trivial disputes in the family keep me busy for the whole day.
After attending the workshop, I realised that each and every person is responsible for his own happiness and sorrow. This realisation has made meu00a0 calm."
Uday Singh, a young professional attentding the workshop said, "I have realised that I used to force my ideas on others.u00a0 After coming here, I dou00a0 not imposeu00a0 my ideas on others anymore."
