Eka celebrates its 10th anniversary with over 500 exclusive Ganeshas from all over the country, costing anything between Rs 125 and a lakh
With Ganesh Chaturthi less than two weeks away, Bangalore's bringing out its Ganeshas. One place to catch the most playful among the gods is Eka which is exhibiting 501 unique Ganeshas at its store. 
What to expect?
The collection features traditional, contemporary, tribal and modern art forms with sizes ranging from two-inch miniatures to those almost four feet in height. You get to see carved Lord Ganeshas in almost every pose:
Standing, leaning, sleeping, dancing, showing his prowess with his hands, in colours like brown, red, silver and gold. The material used is varied u2013 metal, stone, wood, ceramic, fibre, resin, silver enamel, sand and more.
Ganeshas carved out of a single piece of sandstone are amorphous and sober in browns and blacks.
"Since our first exhibition in 2000 when we showcased 1001 singular Ganesha forms, the festival has been the highlight of our calendar and an occasion for which we devote the whole year planning and sourcing," says Kimiko Thakur Menzies, director, Eka. Most of the images are sourced from Delhi.
What's new
The attraction this year is a four-foot ceramic cold Ganesha by Kolkata artist Simi Nirula, a 100-kg, three-foot brass temple Ganesha and the elephant God in laser engraved wood and slate wall art.
About the store
While you decide on which Ganesha takes your fancy, you can also look at artifacts, jewellery and accessories at the store. The store offers products handcrafted from natural materials and those that are sourced from traditional artisans, NGOsu00a0 and select manufacturers.
