When four guitar gods assemble in a room and make music, it's worth making a noise about. But today, the focus is on you, not them. If you are a true-blue guitarist or simply aspire to be one some day, it's Blue Frog where you should be this afternoon.
11/11 is seeing the Eleven Guitar Day workshop organised by Bangalore-based rock band Thermal and a Quarter. While the focus is on guitar technique and technology, the emphasis is on initiation to a revolutionary guitar recording and effects processing systemu00a0- Digidesign Eleven Rack.
And showcasing its wonders in his unique style will be Bruce Lee Mani from TAAQ, accompanied by three other legends: Amit Heri (jazz guitar player), Amyt Dutta (of Skinny Alley and Pink Noise fame) and Tony Das (session players, also played with Bhoomi and Karma 6).
"A lot of young guitarists wouldn't know how to get the right tone," says Mani. "You can learn how to play the guitar in class but finding your tone happens when you interact with professional guitarists." A 20-minute session with each musician will be followed by a digital recording with a specialist, where you can try out the technology for yourself.
Known as the Holy Grail for a guitarist, the Rs 11-lakh system is designed to bid goodbye to the lackluster guitar amp models of yesteryears, and put professional recording into the hands of every guitar player.
But if strumming it out is not your thing and you'd rather just soak in the atmosphere as biggies perform, drop by at the club at night. "It will be a collision of sorts and you can expect sparks to fly," says Rzhude David, TAAQ's lead singer and bassist.
