The government has appointed Saurabh Rao, former district collector of Nagpur, as the new collector of Pune district. Rao will be replacing the outgoing collector Vikas Deshmukh.
Aspiring to continue with ongoing work for the city, Rao said his immediate concentration would be on the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
“Also whatever work that was initiated by Vikas Deshmukh, I plan to take it further for the city’s development.
Though it will be too early to talk about my plans for the city, I would like to first analyse its requirements and priorities,” said the new collector.
Rao is expected to take charge from Deshmukh today.
