New Delhi: An admission aspirant at Delhi University's Kalindi College on Tuesday jumped from the first floor of the college building.

According to college authorities, the girl had come with her father for admission under the Extra Curricular Activities (ECA) quota.

"We rushed when we heard a scream and found that she had jumped from the floor following which she was rushed to Lady Harding Hospital," they said.

The reason behind the extreme step was not known yet, they said, adding, the varsity has been informed about the incident.

Meanwhile, police said the statement of the girl is being recorded.

"The girl is under treatment at the hospital and her statement is being recorded based on which future course of action will be decided," a senior police official said.

No formal complaint has been registered in this connection yet.

College Principal Anula Maurya said, "The girl and her father had approached the college for admission in the OBC quota. Though they did not possess required certificates for the same."

"When they were asked to arrange for the documents, they shouted at me as well as the admission in-charge. The girl's father even humiliated a teacher," the principal alleged. She said the college had reported the matter to
police.
