A former crime reporter working for a regional channel was allegedly hacked to death by a three-member gang, police said today.

A former crime reporter working for a regional channel was allegedly hacked to death by a three-member gang, police said today.

The deceased has been identified as Shrinidhi (38).

He was earlier working with "Udaya TV" as a crime reporter for their crime serial "Red Alert", police said, adding he was murdered last night.

The motive behind the murder is yet to be ascertained. A hunt is on to nab the assailants, who are absconding, police said.
