Police Inspector Sudheer said, "A case has been filed from the police and excise department under 36 (b) 103, 105 Karnataka excise act.
We have arrested a few people and are on the hunt for the others who managed to escape. As of now the license of the pub is under suspension and in a week's time a charge sheet will be filed."
Renukacharya said, "I had got several complaints from the public stating that a live band performed at the bar from 7.30 pm till late night."
He added that senior police officials had accompanied him during the raid on the pub.
"This was not a publicity stunt, but to remove anti-social elements from the society."
A few months ago, an officer from Ashoknagar police station, Uday Bhaskar, was caught red handed and suspended for having nexus with the bar owners.
