New Delhi: Stating that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had failed to learn his lessons from former Prime Minister Vajpayee over tackling the Kashmir issue, former RAW chief A S Dulat slammed PM Narendra Modi.

Speaking to an English daily, Dulat felt that Modi’s ‘no dialogue’ policy with Pakistan was an error of judgment. He asserted that dialogue was essential and crucial and said the same was done during Vajpayee’s tenure.
Dulat, who headed RAW from 1999 to 2000, praised Vajpayee, claiming that probably he was the only the PM who understood the Jammu and Kashmir issue after Jawaharlal Nehru.
He said the former PM was a rare combination of a statesman and a politician.
