Senior inspector Noormohammad Shaikh of Wakad police station, who is investigating the case, said, “Tapasya was the daughter of a former IPS officer and was working in a IT company Persistent in Pune for the last nine years in a senior post. Tapasya was staying in a rented apartment, owned by Hirmesh Nangude, in Wakad area. On Sunday evening, a local resident noticed some foul smell coming from the flat and accordingly alerted Nangude. After getting no response from her, they forcefully opened the door and found her lying on the bed and alerted us.

"There was some bleeding from her nose and mouth and the body was partial decomposed. The viscera has been kept and we have recovered two pages of a suicide note written in English in which she claims that she was depressed because her parents weren't there for her when she needed them and so took such a drastic step. We are investigating the case.”

The post mortem was conducted at Pimpri-Chinchwad based Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital (YCMH). The primary investigation report states that her death is due to consuming poison and the viscera has been kept for expertise analysis.
