Delhi BJP learns lessons from Modi

Inspired by the success of Narendra Modi, Delhi BJP leaders have decided to try and replicate the Gujarat mode of grassroots level functioning of the saffron party. City BJP leaders are highly impressed with Modi's way of functioning, who makes it a point to personally visit party workers to keep the cohesiveness in the unit alive.

Delhi state BJP president Vijender Gupta, party's Delhi co-in charges Navjot Singh Siddhu and Rameshwar Chaurasia along with party's state unit general secretary (organisation) Vijay Sharma visited Gujarat to learn how to run the organisation in an efficient way.

However, some of party leaders who are considered as critics of Vijender Gupta said that until the party leaders unite, this was not going to help Delhi BJP. "There was a time when rest of state units used to come to Delhi to learn from our system. Till the leaders of the party leave their personnel ambition and work selflessly, no attempts can bring the party back into power," said a senior Delhi BJP leader, requesting anonymity.

Delhi BJP has decided to introduce micro-management at all the polling booths to strengthen the party organisation on the lines of Gujarat. Vijender Gupta said, "Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi himself is in-charge of a particular booth.

All MPs and MLAs including the ministers have been working as booth in-charge of one booth of their respective constituencies. The party organisation of Gujarat is so strong that no people need to visit the government Secretariat of Gujarat government at Gandhi Nagar for their small errands."

u00a0Rameshwar Chaurasia told MiD DAY that Narendra Modi appreciated their (Delhi BJP's) visit in the state to study the working of party organisation in Gujarat.
