New Delhi: A 15-year-old boy was allegedly killed by three of his classmates over a dispute on who would collect water first from a public tap in northeast Delhi's Sriram Colony.

The incident occurred on August 25 when, according to the relatives of the deceased, Mohammad Azeem, he was brutally beaten up by three of his classmates, all juveniles, when he had gone to get water from the tap that morning, police said. Azeem had injuries in his private parts, police said.

Those present at the spot at the time of the incident had initially thought it was a minor scuffle but when Azeem collapsed, they realised it was serious.

He was rushed to a hospital where he was declared brought dead. The three juveniles, aged around 13-14 years, have been apprehended and a case registered.
