A police mole killed during a raid

It seems that action potboilers have besotted cops. Like the perfect plot of a Bollywood flick, a man working as informer to the Delhi Police was shot dead by a gang of unidentified car robbers in the Sector-61 area of Noida on Tuesday afternoon, when he was leading the police to them.

Kumar tried to strike a deal on the Honda City car for which they had quoted Rs one lakh.

"Kumar had led a Delhi Police team to the suspected hideout of the car lifting gang in Sector-61. As instructed by the police, he went alone to meet the robbers to help police nab them," said senior police official
u00a0"The gang was waiting at the parking lot of Sai Mandir for Kumar, while the nine-member police team was at the round about, some 200 metres away. Sensing the presence of police, the robbers shot him and fled the spot, "the official said. A critically injured Pramod was taken to Apollo Hospital in Delhi, where doctors declared him dead. The police said Pramod Kumar knew the members of the gang involved in car lifting and trading of used and stolen cars. The Delhi Police were on a look out for them in several cases.

Senior Superintendent of Police A.K. Singh said: "Pramod was being taken by Delhi police to Sector-61 to nab some people. As he was talking to these elements and taking them towards police teams, they fired on him, after which he died."
