Sunil Ghanavat, state coordinator of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, said, “The news of Dabholkar’s killing was shocking. This incident should be thoroughly investigated. We had a difference of opinion about the clauses in the anti-superstition law proposed by Dabholkar to the government. Efforts should be made to find out whether personal enmity was one of the motives behind his murder.”
Praising Dabholkar’s work, Ghanvat said, “He launched various movements to eliminate superstition from the society. He helped apprehend numerous fake babas who deceived common people on the pretext of religion. He created awareness among masses to prevent inhuman practices like human sacrifices, among others.”u00a0
