He called up some of his relatives immediately and fled the spot. This man was lying unconscious on the road with severe head injuries and gashes on his face." The crowd initially took him to small clinic. The doctors at the clinic suggested he be taken to the YCM hospital.

Rajesh Bhalerao, who was part of the group said, "A crowd had already surrounded the man and around eight to 10 men helped to take the man to the hospital."

There was no wallet or mobile phone on his person, so it was not possible for the hospital authorities or the group to inform his family. "We don't know if he is a local or from out-station. He has to get a CT Scan and other examinations done," Nakhate said.

The doctor on duty said the man was around 30 years. He said his condition was critical and they were waiting for the reports to assess his condition.
