Culprit posed as senior physician at RML Hospital to steal valuables

For some time now, Aman Deep had been playing his role to the hilt. He roamed around in the hospital dressed as a doctor and would even scold ward boys and nurses. And whenever an opportunity presented itself he would disappear with personal possessions of doctors.
After a few such incidents were reported, a victim doctor approached the cops to get an FIR registered at the Mandir Marg police station. Investigators went through the CCTV footage and discovered that a 'doctor' was behind the thefts. But when photographs of the accused were shown to other doctors they failed to identify him. The police then laid a trap to arrest the accused. A few plainclothes police personnel were deployed inside the hospital premises. One of the officers was placed inside the CCTV control room to locate the accused.
"Aman Deep again came to the hospital holding a laptop which he had stolen a day ago from the premises. We identified him and nabbed him. He had worn a doctor's dress but when we asked him to produce an ID card he failed to do so. He was arrested and put under interrogation during which he broke down and confessed to his crimes," said a senior police officer.
The officer said that his latest victim was Aditi Jain, a postgraduate student of paediatrics. Jain lives in ward number 3 at the new building of RML hospital. It was some time in the afternoon when she was at the doctor's duty room. She had put her bag containing laptop and other valuables inside the room. The accused discovered that Jain was busy with some work. He barged into the room and took off with her bag.
"The accused has been sent to police remand. We are taking him to Amritsar where he used to sell the stolen valuables. We are trying to find out his antecedents," added a senior police officer.
AN OFFICER, NOT A GENTLEMAN
The CBI recently filed a chargesheet in a Delhi court against an army man for allegedly impersonating as an officer of the probe agency to demand Rs 50 lakh from a Lieutenant General to close a disproportionate assets case against the senior officer. The probe agency sought prosecution of Naib Subedar A K Singh from the court under various provisions of IPC including those relating to the charge of cheating for impersonation. Singh allegedly impersonated as Kailash Bisht, a CBI Inspector, and accepted Rs seven Lakh from Lieutenant General Jagdish Chander as initial token amount for settling a case relating to possession of disproportionate assets by the senior Army officer. "The accused made a telephonic call to the Army officer to demand Rs 50 lakh posing himself as Kailash Bisht," CBI alleged.
