Two months after Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit's intervention stopped the 'inevitable', the coffee shop frequented by Prime Ministers is facing a lockout yet again.

If the NDMC has its way, the Indian Coffee Workers Co-operative Society may shut down the coffee house as soon as October 1.

The NDMC issued a notice to the coffee shop after it defaulted in paying the subsidised rent of Rs 6,000 per month since 2003 citing losses in operations.

The management of the Indian Coffee Workers Cooperative Society will meet NDMC officials on Tuesday and a final decision will be taken.

A consumer forum, Allied Cultural Moorings, has roped in several politicians, including the Delhi Chief Minister, to save the historical intellectual hub that was a regular place of meeting for two presidents, nine prime ministers and 24 chief ministers.
