The accused abducted the boy over a sum of Rs 4,000, which was owed to them

Delhi police arrested three brothers in connection with a kidnapping within five hours of the incident. The matter was reported from the north district. Police have also rescued the four-year-old child.

A senior police official said that the accused have been identified as Sarfaraz Ali, Sartaj Ali and Gul Mohammed. Sarfaraz, a carpenter by profession, was to get Rs 4,000 from the father of the kidnapped child, who is a businessman.u00a0

Police officials said they received a complaint in this regard from one Gaurav Bali, who runs a shop of auto parts in the Kashmere Gate area. Bali told the police that he was on his way to Moti Bagh in south Delhi from his shop when he got a call from home and came to know of the abduction of his son Rajbir.

A police team interrogated the employees of Gaurav and his neighbours in connection with the incident. During investigations, police got to know that a carpenter named Sarfaraz often used to visit his house. Gaurav told the police that he had an argument with the carpenter over his payment a few days ago. Police tried to contact Sarfaraz but he was found missing. His cellphone was found to be switched off. Police conducted a raid at his house but he was not found.

In the meantime, Sarfaraz contacted Gaurav Bali and told him that his cellphone was switched off due to low battery and that he was reaching his house.u00a0 Police said that they arrested Sarfaraz when he reached the businessman's house. He was interrogated by the police, during which he gave contradictory statements.

"Finally, Sarfaraz confessed that he had kidnapped the boy with the help of his brothers. He said that the businessman did not make his full payment and to teach him a lesson, he decided to abduct his son," the police official said.
