Congress speaking the language of Pakistan: PM Modi on Article 370 in Pune rally

Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi on Tuesday said the Congress is speaking the "Pakistan's language" by seeking to restore Article 370 in Kashmir. "Nobody can bring back Article 370, we have buried it deep in the ground," PM Modi said, while addressing a rally in Pune, ahead of the November 20 Maharashtra Assembly Elections. According to news agency PTI, PM Modi said the country will never agree to the demand for restoration of Article 370, adding, "The Congress has passed a resolution in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly to again implement Article 370. Those who are showing Constitution books to the country and distributing blank books in Maharashtra, I would like to ask them, they [Congress] have ruled the country for six-seven decades, but why was the Constitution made by Babasaheb Ambedkar not implemented in the whole of India. With the blessings of the people, Modi, your sevak, has buried Article 370 deep into the ground. Article 370 separated Kashmir from India and promoted terrorism and separatism in Kashmir. Article 370 did not allow the Constitution of India to be applied in Kashmir. BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) abrogated Article 370 and hoisted the tricolour. We restored peace in Kashmir and thwarted the plans of the separatists." He also slammed the Congress government in Karnataka and said the party is looting the people of the state and using that money to fight the Maharashtra polls. "In Karnataka, Congress lied and urged people to vote for them. They formed the government and were unable to fulfil their promises. Instead, they are running an extortion campaign in Karnataka. Scams are being unearthed every other day. The Congress is looting people in broad daylight. It is alleged that the Congress is using the same money to fight elections in Maharashtra," Modi said. ¿If we want to save Maharashtra, we need to keep Congress at bay," added PM Modi. Modi said he has been to various areas in Maharashtra and can say with confidence that the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance will win the state assembly polls and work for speedy development of the state. "Maharashtra knows that development is possible only with the Mahayuti alliance at the helm," said PM Modi, adding that the pace of the development work in the state under the Mahayuti regime has been unprecedented. "The two-and-a-half years of the Maha Vikas Aghadi government were spent in stopping our projects. This is the culture of the Congress and its allies," he said. (With PTI inputs)

Razakars killed Kharge's kin but he keeps mum for votebank: Yogi Adityanath

Uttar Pradesh (UP) Chief Minister (CM) Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday claimed that Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge deliberately remains silent on the tragic death of his mother and sister — who were killed in an attack by Razakars — as he feared losing Muslim votes. According to news agency PTI, days after Kharge criticised the seer-turned-politician on his saffron attire and "Batenge to katenge" slogan, Adityanath launched a strong counterattack at a poll rally in Amravati while campaigning for the Maharashtra polls. He accused the veteran politician of suppressing these painful personal memories for political expediency and alleged that Congress ignores historical atrocities for the sake of vote bank politics. Kharge has conveniently forgotten the history of the Razakars under the Nizam of Hyderabad despite the personal loss he had suffered, said Adityanath. "(Mallikarjun) Kharge's village, Varawatti, was also burned down by Razakars, and his mother, aunt, and sister died in the attacks," the UP CM stated during the rally. According to PTI, he also alleged that Kharge was suppressing this truth because he feared losing Muslim votes if he spoke about the atrocities committed by the Nizam's forces. 'Congress compromised with Muslim League in 1946' "The Congress is trying to reject history and Kharge has conveniently forgotten what happened to his family, just for vote bank politics," the UP CM said. The Razakars was a paramilitary force that operated in the erstwhile princely state of Hyderabad. The force had a primary objective of maintaining the rule of the Muslim Nizams of Hyderabad and preventing the accession of the state to India. During his rally in Maharashtra, the UP CM further alleged that the historical leadership of the Congress compromised with the Muslim League in 1946, resulting in the division of India and the killing of Hindus. "When the Nizam realised during the freedom movement that he could not remain independent, he resorted to killing Hindus," said Adityanath, further claiming that Dr BR Ambedkar, who framed the Constitution, had advised Hindus and Scheduled Castes to move to Maharashtra for their safety [from the Nizam-ruled territory]. According to PTI, Adityanath also warned against divisions within the country. "If you are divided, your daughters will become unsafe, temples will be attacked, and communities will be targeted. This is the reality of what happens when you are not united," Adityanath said while drawing a parallel with the "rise of instances of love and land jihad in Maharashtra" and blaming the earlier Congress governments. During a poll rally in Maharashtra, Kharge had said, "Many leaders live in the guise of sadhus and have now become politicians" in a veiled attack on Adityanath. "On the one hand, you wear gerua (saffron) clothes, and on the other hand, you say 'Batoge to katoge'. I would say to the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party), either wear white clothes or if you are a sanyasi, wear gerua clothes, but then get out of politics," Kharge had said. (With PTI inputs)

EC issues clarification after Uddhav Thackeray's bags were checked again

The Shiv Sena (UBT) on Tuesday alleged that the poll authorities frisked the bags of party chief Uddhav Thackeray for the second consecutive day.  Amid the allegations, the Election Commission, without naming the party or the leader, stated that helicopters and vehicles of all top leaders and campaigners are checked for suspicious items.   Earlier in the day, Thackeray's son and party legislator Aaditya retweeted a video in which poll officials are frisking the bags inside his chopper at Latur.  While the Entirely Compromised commission shamelessly carries on trying to delay Uddhav Thackeray ji to his sabhas by frisking, the question is, why isn’t the PM or other ministers visiting Maharashtra to promote bjp’s loot being frisked this way? What a disgrace it’s turning… https://t.co/PxPKKsPhTu — Aaditya Thackeray (@AUThackeray) November 12, 2024 In his post, Aaditya has called the Election Commission (EC) the 'Entirely Compromised Commission' and claimed that the poll authorities are trying to delay his father from reaching his public meetings. He also questioned why the Prime Minister or other ministers are not frisked in Maharashtra.  Following his allegations, sources in EC, speaking to news agency PTI, clarified that the aircraft and helicopters of top leaders across political spectrum are checked as part of standard operating procedure (SOP). According to PTI, they claimed that in the previous polls too, the planes and helicopters of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President JP Nadda and Home Minister Amit Shah were checked. "There have been strict SOPs followed by enforcement agencies for a level-playing field. During the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, a similar issue was raised in Bihar and it was clarified that the helicopters of prominent leaders, including Nadda, was checked in Bhagalpur district on April 24 while Shah's chopper was frisked in Katihar district on April 21 as per the SOP," a functionary pointed out. The sources also recalled the statement of Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar during the announcement of ongoing Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024 during which he said directions have been given to the enforcement agencies to ensure that the helicopters of all the leaders are checked for a level-playing field. According to PTI, Thackeray had on Monday claimed his bag was inspected by the election authorities when he arrived in Maharashtra's Yavatmal to campaign for the November 20 Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024. The former chief minister asked if the election authorities would also inspect the bags of PM Narendra Modi and other senior leaders. The Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) also posted on X a video which the former CM recorded while poll officials were checking his bags on his arrival in Yavatmal. According to PTI, in the video, Thackeray can be heard asking officials if they had similarly inspected the bags of any other senior leader or if they would check PM Modi or Union Home Minister Shah's bags. Everyone in MVA fighting for driver's seat, says PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that there is constant infighting within the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance in Maharashtra, with everyone fighting for the driver's seat, reported the PTI. "You all are seeing how there is a stampede in the Aghadi. There is a tug-of-war going on in the Aghadi for the post of chief minister," PM Modi said, addressing a rally in Solapur for the November 20 Maharashtra Assembly election 2024. "One party remains busy the whole day in declaring its leader as the chief minister, while other parties and Congress remain busy in rejecting its claim," PM Modi said. "Those whose condition is like this before the elections, they can never give a stable government to Maharashtra," he said. "For decades, the Congress governed the country but left many issues unresolved. They kept people preoccupied with various problems. This has become their typical work culture," he said, as per the PTI. As a result of this approach, the farmers in Maharashtra have suffered for many years, PM Modi said. "In this region, Congress and its allies failed to address irrigation issues effectively. In contrast, we have focused on resolving these problems. Thanks to our efforts, the water table in several villages in Solapur is now rising," he said, according to the PTI. PM Modi said the BJP-led Mahayuti government in Maharashtra completed projects which were delayed for decades. "Your love and blessings are a perennial source of my energy," he said. Maharashtra needs the Mahayuti government and only a stable government will be able to make long-term policies for the state, he said. "The Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana for women is on everyone's lips. The opposition has lost sleep over it," PM Modi said, the news agency reported. Congress' 'shahi parivar' believes it was born to rule India: PM Modi Meanwhile, PM Modi on Tuesday said that it has always been the mentality of the 'shahi parivar' of Congress that it was born to rule the country, as per the PTI. "This is the reason that after Independence, the Congress never allowed Dalits, backward classes and Adivasis to progress," PM Modi said, addressing a rally at Chimur in Maharashtra's Chandrapur district ahead of the November 20 Maharashtra Assembly election 2024. "The Congress gets irritated with (the topic of) reservations. In the 1980s, when Rajiv Gandhi led the party, it published an advertisement raising questions over the special rights enjoyed by Dalits, backward classes and Adivasis," PM Modi said, news agency reported. Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition (LoP) and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday said that as soon as INDIA bloc forms government in Maharashtra they would address the concerns of soybean and cotton farmers in the election bound state, reported ANI. Despite being unable to attend a scheduled rally in Chikhli due to technical issues with his aircraft, Gandhi conveyed his message remotely. The LoP said, "I was scheduled to come to Chikhli (Maharashtra) but due to technical problems in the aircraft, I could not come there this morning. I would like to apologise to you. I was scheduled to have a public rally today and interact with soybean farmers. Soybean and cotton farmers face a lot of issues. I know that the BJP doesn't provide right price to these farmers. As soon as INDIA alliance's government comes to power, we will try to find out a solution for you." The INDIA bloc, a coalition of opposition parties, has been promising changes in Maharashtra through their "five guarantees" campaign.  Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024: Rahul Gandhi's challenge to PM Modi Earlier, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi took to social media to challenge the BJP-led NDA alliance's claims about Congress not fulfilling its promises. He pointed to successful implementations of Congress schemes in Karnataka, Telangana, and Himachal Pradesh. जुलाई 2022 में, प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने कांग्रेस की जनहित योजनाओं को 'फ्री की रेवड़ी' कहकर देश को गुमराह किया। फिर भी वो कांग्रेस की गारंटियों पर ही अपनी पर्ची चिपका कर देश में और हर प्रदेश में चुनाव प्रचार कर रहे हैं - और फिर कांग्रेस पर वादे पूरे न करने का मनगढ़ंत आरोप लगाते… pic.twitter.com/O78jqJ7R9Z — Rahul Gandhi (@RahulGandhi) November 9, 2024 In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Rahul Gandhi wrote, "In July 2022, PM Modi misled the country by calling Congress's public welfare schemes 'free revdi'. Yet they are campaigning in every state and the country by pasting their slips on the guarantees given by the Congress - and then levelling false allegations against the Congress for not fulfilling its promises.”  Rahul Gandhi further challenged Narendra Modi to visit Karnataka to check whether Congress has fulfilled its promises or not. He said, “Modiji, our challenge is, come to Karnataka, roam around and see, investigate - we have fulfilled every promise. Congress' schemes in Karnataka have changed the fate of crores of women, youth, farmers and the poor. We have also fulfilled promises in Telangana and Himachal. And now in Maharashtra too, INDIA is going to bring big changes with its 5 guarantees." The upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections are scheduled for November 20, with vote counting for all 288 constituencies set to take place on November 23.  In the previous assembly elections in 2019, the BJP won 105 seats, the Shiv Sena 56, and with Congress securing 44.
