A south Delhi-based businessman who wanted to divorce his wife, an employee of a multinational company, reportedly hired two private detectives to watch over her and to film her activity so that he could prove she had an affair with someone. But this time the detectives hired by him were caught recording the woman's activity in the high security zone of Chanakyapuri. Police said that one of the detectives identified as Vikas was caught while his colleague Vijay Pathak managed to escape from the spot.

"This is a case of matrimonial dispute. Police lodged an FIR on the basis of allegations made by Aruna (name changed) the wife of Deepak Tokas a businessman. Vikas was recording the activities of Aruna in his cellphone along with Vijay Pathak. Police have recovered the phone. We are checking the footage," said a senior police official. The cellphone has a memory card that contains one GB of data. Police will check all of it to find out what they had recorded about Aruna. The detectives allegedly threatened Aruna of dire consequences when they were caught. They asked her to divorce her husband claiming that they have her clippings that could tarnish her image.u00a0

The police official said that Aruna lives in Lado Sarai area and is working with International Youth Centre. She reportedly had a love marriage with Deepak Tokas around five years ago. Their relation turned sour around three years ago and since then they have been living separately. Deepak now wants to divorce his wife.

"Deepak approached Secret Watch Detectives Service which has its office in Dhaula Kuan area in South Delhi. Deepak had given them several thousand rupees in advance. According to Aruna the detectives had been following her for the past five months. She told the police that her husband wants to prove that she is having an affair with someone and wants to prove it through illegal recording," said the official.

Aruna was hiring an auto-rickshaw outside International Youth Hostel when she noticed that two persons shooting her video. She raised an alarm and shouted for help hearing which nearby people rushed to her help and caught Vikas.
