"We received a letter today, addressed to the station manager, about bombs planted on Kamakhya Express and Merusagar Express. It also said that bombs were planted on the city railway station in Kalupur area here," Western Railway PRO Pradeep Sharma said.
"We informed the city police and the Government Railway Police who checked and found it to be a hoax," added Sharma. Government Railway Police (GRP), city police, Bomb Disposal Squad and Dog Squads combed the station premises and the trains standing in the station but no suspicious material was found, said P P Tirojiya, inspector, GRP.
Sender of the letter identified himself as an "Indian Mujahideen" member.
"There is a bomb planted at Ahmedabad railway station. Vacate it and everybody run from here. Today we will blow off Merusagar and Kamakhya express," it said.
