Boat Club Quiz Club that aims to stimulate the minds of Puneites has been organising quizzes across the city for more than a decade now

If you miss the Sunday telecast of Bournvita Quiz Contest, do not fret. The Boat Club Quiz Club (BCQC) can provide you the same mental stimulation. The club, which was started in the early 90s on the lawns of the Boat Club, College of Engineering Pune (COEP), organises quizzes in and around the city.
Members of the club meet almost every weekend at the Boat Club. However, most of the people who were involved in forming the club are not around now.
BCQC also provides quizzing services to schools, colleges and companies all over India. "We organise a Quiz Day every two months where we hold two quizzes," said Abhishek Nagaraj (22), a COEP alumnus. "We meet every weekend at the Boat Club for informal quizzing sessions. All quizzes are conducted and set by the members," he explained. The club recently organised a quiz for the British Library and the Poona Blind School, which went off well.

Aniket Khasgiwale, an associate software engineer, first became a club member when he was an engineering student. Explaining why BCQC is special, he said, "All members have different backgrounds, but there's a feeling of togetherness and the love for quizzing that binds us. It has become an inseparable part of our lives, and all of us are much better off for it."
Yashovardhan Tamaskar (22), a computer science student at COEP, agreed with Khasgiwale. "I have been a part of BCQC for four years and have thoroughly enjoyed myself. It has increased my knowledge of a wide range of topics," he said.
