While college fests tend to be a drag if they go on for a long time, Symbiosis Centre of Management Studies Sympulse 2011 managed to keep the enthusiasm alive on the third day of its annual festival, thanks to the Battle of Bands and some spot games.

Events scheduled for the morning looked routine, with participants making up most of the crowd. However, Symulate, an event covering quizzes related to marketing, finance and human resources, created quite a buzz.

Students were given money to buy products from the market and resell them at a profit. They also had to make investments.

The fest was an amalgamation of different ideas. Siddharth, a 20-year-old student from RML National Law University, Lucknow said. "I have come to participate in the Model United Nations and it's a great concept, we discussed important issues, while trying to find solutions for these."

The college also organised a mock stock market and investment gurus were invited to judge the events.

Although the footfall on day three was less compared to the previous two days, events scheduled for the evening gathered students' tempo, with the finale being the college band competition Battle of Bands. An evening rock show also kept the crowd happy.

In one of the competitions, the participants were made to gulp some drink. "It was horrible, the taste still lingers in my mouth," said Wasim Akhtar, (20), a student of Sinhagad Institute of Arts and
Commerce.
